At 15 Seconds Store they know exactly how they want people who enter their store to feel: free. Free to enjoy some of the firms that are emerging in national fashion lately. Young, fresh and innovative firms full of talent and inspiration with a solid identity of their own. For this reason, 15 Segundos Store has brought together seven emerging designers to talk about the current fashion industry, new creators and their opportunities, social networks, fast fashion, genderless fashion, designer and artisan fashion, in a 'Fashion Talk Day'.

Palomo Spain, García Madrid, Albert Mullor, Guillermo Décimo, Mané Mané, Fran Marto and the international top model Lucía López were the stars of the event, which was moderated by María Muñoz Rivera, and was attended by all those interested in the world of the fashion or that they are starting in it, since they enabled some entries on the web. Also present was Eduardo Navarrete, creator of the center for new brands and creators, and some former contestants from Masters of Sewing such as Margarita and Isabel Gomila, who gave some notions to the young people who attended.

“Giving designers a voice, supporting and making new creators visible is essential for their development. The beginnings are very difficult, but you can achieve it”, assured Navarrete. Now that fast fashion has become part of the world of fashion, author fashion and emerging designers who bet on slow fashion have it harder than ever. Some of them, such as Palomo Spain, Mané Mané or García Madrid, have poured all their originality and talent into collections with unique pieces that do not respond to established rules in terms of design and manufacturing. Contrary to many textile companies whose designs are very limited and, on many occasions, copied and replaced with lower quality materials. But not here.

Here fashion is absolutely free, not only in ideas, materials and designs. It does not attend to any type of issue in its creation or when it comes to wearing it. There are no garments that certain people should wear and not others. There are not even women's or men's clothes, there are clothes that people like and that look good no matter who is wearing them. It's clothes for everyone, and that's when we talk about genderless fashion: encouraging people to shed what is traditionally masculine or feminine to find what suits them best.

There are more and more firms involved in this trend, and social networks have been an excellent vehicle to make it visible. This has been one of the issues that was put on the table: the relationship between fashion and social networks. “Before, fashion was a niche reality that very few people had access to, and it was a universe that was even viewed with a little contempt. Now it has become a space within everyone's reach, and social networks have had a lot to do with that”, commented Miguel Becer from Mané Mané. Thus, the diffusion it generates from editorials, collections and fashion shows helps them reach all parts of the world and thus, make more people participate in their art. But that also means that firms have to generate content faster, due to the speed at which these social platforms move.

"We have to support author fashion." There is no doubt that the large multinationals have made fashion more economically accessible, but this has harmed the designers who work with quality materials in unique pieces. For this reason, they have emphasized the importance of supporting author fashion, and also artisan fashion, so that all those small workshops that make authentic jewelery are not lost in time. The truth is that there are more and more people, and especially young people, who prefer to save a few months and buy a good garment that will last them over time to continually buy low cost garments.

The invited designers encouraged young people in the audience to start in the world of fashion, while remaining true to themselves. “Fashion has some well-understood frivolity and good materials, all of us here play that game a little. All you have to do is not drown in it," Becer added. "Before we wanted to jump into the bucket of general fashion, but now it's individuality that makes us more interesting and more powerful."
