Helly Hansen launches innovation in base layers and presents the unisex set consisting of the H1 Pro Protective Top shirt and the ¾ H1 Pro Protective Pant, designed for optimal protection and aerodynamic performance on the slopes.
The new base layer has been developed with input from Helly Hansen professional skiers, including the Canadian National Alpine Ski Team. The innovative protective base layer of the H1 Pro jersey and pants features a unique design that incorporates protective pads, made of fabric and integrated into strategic areas in its construction.
Helly Hansen's goal was to achieve the fastest combination possible between a base layer and a speed suit. The new base layer arises from the need felt by professional skiers who require a garment that protects them more, without adding volume and, at the same time, increases speed.
Thus, designed to optimize aerodynamic performance, the H1 Pro Protective Top and the ¾ H1 Pro Protective Pant have a compression fit, which keeps the pads in place when wearing a speed suit.
“Professional feedback is the foundation of everything we do,” says Philip Tavell, Helly Hansen General Manager Base Coat Category. “With the new H1 Pro protective base layers, we've really listened to what our pros needed and have pushed to innovate and deliver gear that keeps them safe without compromising performance.”

Both the H1 Pro Protective Top and the ¾ H1 Pro Protective Pant are made with LIFA® fibers, patented by Helly Hansen in a seamless construction that, at the same time, offers excellent moisture management, as well as maximum comfort and freedom of movement.
