Hummel, the new brand for Betis for the next four seasons

Although there are still nine months left before the 2022/23 season begins, there are many teams that are beginning to close the fringes of their image by then. It is not known who will wear the Real Betis Balompié shirt in a year, but it will be from the Danish brand Hummel.

Betis' contract with the Italian brand Kappa ends in June 2022, and according to ABC de Sevilla, the club has closed an agreement with Hummel for the next four seasons, so that it will be the entity's main sports sponsor until June 2026.

This operation, carried out by Onda Bética in May, will mean the return of the Danish firm to Betis, since between 1987 and 1990 it already put its mark on the verdiblancas stripes. Other brands such as Nike, Under Armor or Meyba had been mentioned, but Hummel will become the third brand to wear Betis for the second time after Kappa and Adidas, although the latter only did so in a sporadic game at the end of the 70s before disembarking at Betis in the middle of the last decade.

Hummel's agreement with Betis falls within the new strategy of the Nordic brand, which in recent months has set aside contracts with less weight such as those of Elche CF and CA Osasuna to focus on more strategic clubs. Thus, just a few dates ago it became known that it would be the main sponsor of Málaga CF starting next season, adding to the costasoleños other LaLiga SmartBank clubs such as Tenerife or UD Las Palmas.

Where the brand is truly strong is in world handball. In Spain alone, it sponsors seven clubs from the Asobal league and another 18 from the lower categories -among them the Helvetia BM Prointegrada from Seville-, in addition to the official ball of the first Spanish category. He is also taking numerous steps forward in basketball and has seen Surne Bilbao Basket, Morabanc Andorra and Ucam Murci, whom he will add to Coosur Real Betis next year.

   Warrior is a subsidiary of New Balance. It also sponsored Liverpool at the same time as Sevilla to enter the soccer market, but they abandoned the strategy and the multinational's parent company made a change to New Balance.
