The ironic obituary of a store: "He leaves us after a severe illness marked by internet purchases"
A Basauri store has gone viral after its owner's attempt to stir consciences thanks to the obituary with which she has decided to announce the closure. Accompanied by a pink coffin and a flower arrangement in its window, the obituary would serve to vindicate local businesses.
"She passed away in Basauri in December 2021 at the age of six," she began. "LaLula leaves us after a severe illness marked by numerous purchases on large internet platforms against which she has not been able to compete with any type of antibiotic," she continues.
"Despite their desire to continue and to continue dressing women with their own style, infections such as 'Black Friday', 'Single Day', 'Dias de Oro', 'Fantastic Week', San Quiero and San Medalagana by these same platforms (and even our own brands) have finished weakening their defenses. So much online consumption always looking for the balance may make us champions of savings, but it will always be at the cost of making the diseases of small businesses chronic," he explains.
"The tremendous consequences of the COVID-19 virus in which we have been able to lose family or friends, with their ERTEs, with their unemployment in families, with their psychosis in those not affected that has caused infections of the type #comoyanosalgoparaquevoyacomprar, # sitotalsolovoyacuatrorecados or #siyanoentroenbaresatomaruncafé...," he finishes off before putting a "QEPD".
The ironic farewell ends with a message. "The group of local fashion stores and the rest of the town's businesses ask for self-reflection to avoid possible contagion or future deaths. The family appreciates the support given to the landlady for its help in closing the pandemic, to the Basauri City Council for her help to promote consumption in the town and above all to the neighbors and clients who never stopped visiting her and who always trusted her product looking beautiful in the streets", she explains.
"The family does not receive condolences from those who never visited or bothered to meet her. At the express wish of the deceased local, her last weekly phrase: Deep in every crisis...there is an opportunity for something beautiful. Funeral home open until January 28," he concludes.
