Nacho de Blas: "Vaccines will return us to normality"
Neither the numbers of deaths nor the hospital pressure of the sixth wave of infections in Aragon have been comparable to that of previous onslaughts of the pandemic. The epidemiologist Nacho de Blas considers that Aragón has resisted much better thanks to the good numbers of the vaccinated population ; and this despite the high transmission capacity of the Delta variant .
However, De Blas warns of a change of scenery from the month of October , when the good weather begins to be left behind. The consequences of this seasonality are now unpredictable , since it also depends on the possible mutations of the virus and the consequent appearance of new variants.
Despite this uncertainty, the Aragonese epidemiologist considers it reasonable for Health to take steps towards normality , maintaining some restrictions that do not forget the presence of the virus. Restrictions such as the prohibition of consumption in bars in the hospitality industry, which De Blas interprets as a logical measure because it is preferable to continue promoting consumption abroad .
