Vitoria fines 537 vehicles for going over 30km/h News Vitoria-Álava
The Local Police has fined 537 vehicles in a month for exceeding 30 kilometers / hour. Of course, the fines could be repeated if the vehicle has been hunted by the radar for several days. These fines are part of the mobile radar campaign, which has lasted for a month, since the entry into force of the new regulations on May 11 and has been carried out on 39 streets in the city.
The radar is sometimes located in the camouflaged vehicle of the Local Police, but on other occasions it has been placed in the middle of the street, where the police vehicle had no room to locate itself.

Outside of Armentia, Portal de Elorriaga and Portal de Lasarte are the only streets that exceed 25 violations. In the first of them, the Local Police has denounced 57 vehicles in two days for exceeding 30 kilometers / hour. And on the street that connects Lasarte with Vitoria-Gasteiz. the radar has surprised 37 cars.

New road markings
In order to reduce speed, the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council has painted new "chevron" and "dragon teeth" road signs. According to the council, the optical effect of these marks will make the cars brake at those points.
