Auction of Maradona's assets: what objects were taken
Diego Armando Maradona's assets were auctioned this Sunday, from eleven in the morning to two in the afternoon, virtually through the platform of the Adrián Mercado Group, which was in charge of carrying out the operation.
Those who accessed the platform from Argentina paid 600 pesos, while foreigners paid 10 dollars. Those who knew they were going to bid had to leave a deposit.
The valuables to be auctioned off were cars, paintings, T-shirts and property. However, with some surprise, a very valuable property in the life of "10" was not acquired by any of those present at the broadcast.
Maradona Auction
When the day began, the first object to be auctioned was a straw hat with a blue ribbon. Maradona used to use it on some occasions. Its base price was $60 and it eventually sold for $320.
Next, eight hats were sold, seven of them with a maximum price of $300. However, one cap in particular was the one that caught the attention of those present on the platform. It was a gift from Nicolás Maduro, the current president of Venezuela, which Diego used in a match against Godoy Cruz, when he was a Gimnasia LP coach.
The initial price was $500 and it ended up selling for $520.
After noon, the batch of paintings appeared. There the matter took summer temperature.
The first painting to be auctioned off was one of Maradona with Fidel Castro. It started at $400 and ended up selling for $1,600.
Another painting that had an interesting bid was that of "Between Fiorito and the sky", by the artist Lu Sedova. They took it for $2,150.
In the sports part, a batch of pants was auctioned off. A long black Borussia Dortmund jogging was paid for $270. Although, the surprise was given by gymnastics pants: it was sold for 450 dollars.
Also, we must add the emblematic black Puma boots from Maradona. An Argentine bought them for 900 dollars.
The auction was on again when it was time for the t-shirts. Francesco, a buyer from Dubai, kept a Macron brand Napoli shirt (for $1,500) and one of the Argentine National Team (for $1,300).
Maradona's house in Devoto
Diego Maradona's Villa Devoto house, located at José Luis Cantilo N° 4575, which had a base of 900 thousand dollars, was left deserted in the international auction. The property has 700 covered m2 distributed in several rooms, garage, patio and swimming pool, in addition to other amenities.
Diego acquired it in the 80s and it was one of the great gifts he gave to his parents, Don Diego and Doña Tota.
Also, it was a surprise that no one has acquired Maradona's apartment in Mar del Plata. It had a base price of $65,000.
BMW and Hyundai, neither
Two vehicles belonging to the former Boca soccer player were included in the auction. However, none of them were purchased by the buyers present.
There were two BMWs, starting at $225.00 and $165,000, and a Hyundai H1 pickup priced at $38,000.
