Brazilian clothing brands join and launch inclusive line for people with disabilities
Their pants have side closures and their shirts have velcro instead of buttons, to help people with disabilities.
This new alliance promises to help many people with disabilities by offering them adequate clothing for them and as indicated by the IBGE demographic census may have an important impact for 24% of people who are in this situation in Brazil.
“The fact that we do not offer a line adapted to the public of people with disabilities has always been a reason for anxiety and sadness for us.This changed when, more than three years ago, we met Silvana Louro, CEO and founder of Equal. From the first contact, she helped us, joining us in the construction of our Adapt & lineamp;. Nuestras conversaciones y la percepción de que los negocios con un impacto positivo son beneficiosos para todos nos unieron”, expresó Rony Meisler, CEO de AR & Co de la que Reserva forma parte.
Additionally, as reported by the Fashion United media, the first collection of these brands is composed of 14 articles that were developed by the Equal, Reserve team and a group of 9 people, including some in wheelchairs and with other disabilities, to be able to be able toproperly capture clothing items with comfort and quality characteristics of reserve products.
In addition, the media reported that some of the modifications to the clothes that were taken into account were: Design pants with side closures, as well as replace the use of buttons with velcro in shirts and shirts, among others, which allow thepeople with disabilities to be more autonomous when it comes to the use of their clothing.
In this regard, Rony Mesler mentioned Fashion United that expects: "That the reserve example drags a multitude of national fashion entrepreneurs to create similar products lines and that the example of Silvana Louro drags crowds of new entrepreneurs and commercial brands as equal".
Undoubtedly, an important advance towards inclusion, which could be replicated by more Brazilian brands and others in the world.
