ANDER SALEGI DEBA.

On July 1st, the official beach season began in Deba, the same as in the rest of the beaches in Gipuzkoa. Due to the special situation this year, caused by Covid-19, special measures have been taken. It has generated, in turn, that new jobs have to be done on the beach, such as creating the figure of 'hondartzainas' (people in charge of the beach). Two people carry out this task on the Santiago de Deba beach. Its function is to inform beach users of the criteria and recommendations to comply with sanitary measures and monitor capacity.

This information is also given through panels and over the public address system. Remember that a maximum stay of three hours has been established on the beach, chairs and hammocks are allowed, just as at low tide you can walk and run along the shore; On the other hand, with high tide, you cannot walk along the shore nor can you practice any sport on the sand. Umbrellas are prohibited and for now it is the point at which the 'hondartzainas' are carrying out the most warnings. Group sports are not allowed between 11:00 and 19:00. Also remember that the use of a mask is mandatory when the distance of 2 meters cannot be maintained.
