Chile reaches its highest positivity rate since 2020: 15.8%
The Chilean health authorities have reported this Tuesday the detection of 14,291 new infections by COVID-19 and a national positivity rate of 15.8%, the highest since July 2020, amid an accelerated spread of the omicron variant during the last few weeks.
The variation of confirmed cases throughout the country, as reported by the Ministry of Health, is 69% in seven days and 314% in the last 14 days, while 67,018 patients remain active throughout the territory, that is, , with the ability to spread the virus.

To date, Chile has deployed one of the most successful vaccination campaigns in the world, with 92.6% of the target population inoculated with two doses or a single dose and 11.8 million booster vaccinations already administered.
