How to get a profitable company?Stop thinking only about money
Alexander McCobin, CEO of conscious capitalism, ventured into working life when he was barely a teenager. He undertook and administered several businesses, both for profit and without them."In these first experiences I saw some injustices," he says. This made him question whether to get the number -the budget, the financial objective -justified to pass over people -employees and customers -the environment and communities. For him the answer was 'no'.
After several laps to this idea and while preparing a dissertation on corporate moral responsibility, he attended the first annual conscious capitalism conference in 2013, where he was inspired by business leaders dedicated to changing the world. He left the academic life in Georgetown and resumed one of the projects he had started during the degree, making him an operation with a long -term vision, which seeks to create value for all the parties involved, beyond the increase in the profits ofThe short -term company.
"Companies have to earn money to be viable. But doing business is much more. There is a great purpose.Companies can also be a powerful force that creates value in other forms: for employees, entire communities or the environment in general, ”says McCobin.
