Mayor's Office would charge for the use of public space to informal vendors and restaurants in Bogotá
During a government council, the mayor of Bogotá, Claudia López, raised the possibility of charging for public space both for informal vendors and for establishments that operate in the open. However, this charge would be given until the end of 2021.
“That they take advantage of the public space to the extent that their private space has limited capacity and they cannot break even for their business. This year it is free for that reason, but at the end of next year everyone is paying, whoever wants to park pays, whoever wants to sell on the street pays, whoever wants to have a stall on the street pays," the president said.

“Just as the one who is going to park is going to pay, because the one who wants to use the platform in a year is also going to pay and we started to organize ourselves, so that they know that we are going to move in that direction and I invite them, but the best security is the organization," López revealed.
