New York will keep the mandatory public mask waiting for the judge's decision
A judge of the New York Court of Appeals annulled on Tuesday the decision taken Monday night by the Supreme Court of the State to suspend the obligation to use masks in closed public places while deciding on this matter, announced the attorney general of New York,Letitia James.
The official, who had announced that she would appeal the judicial decision against the obligation of the mask, a measure that entered into force on December 13, insisted that this initiative will remain in force while the Court of Appeals makes a final decision.
"Our main priority is to protect the health of New York during the Covid-19 Pandemia," James wrote on his Twitter account.

A judge had considered the state ordinance illegal to use masks inside public premises, which was issued by Governor Kathy Hochul when they began to increase the cases of omicron, and which was valid for one month, although the Department of Healthextended it until February 1.
The Judge of the Supreme Court of the State, Thomas Rademaker, who declared illegal the mandatory mask, said that such an order is the power of the Legislative Power (in this case of the State of New York) because the governor no longer has the powersthat were granted to the Executive during the pandemic.
