The circulation of the coronavirus is accelerating in Galicia and the weight of outbreaks originating in social events, hotels and nightlife is increasing in the community. To curb the rate of contagion, the Xunta and the hospitality sector agreed this Monday to take a series of measures, including the implementation of the covid certificate and the reduction of people who can share a table. For the use of the immune passport, it is necessary to wait for the opinion of the TSXG, but the reduction of groups will take effect this Saturday. This is how the hospitality industry will work from the next few weeks.
Ten of us are going to dinner this Saturday. Can we sit together?
If it is inside the premises, no. The Xunta and the hospitality sector have agreed to reduce the number of diners inside from ten to eight. If it is on a terrace, yes. Outside there can be tables of up to 15 people.
I'm going to a Christmas cocktail. Is there a limitation in the groups?
Yes. Although it is a standing reception, the group limitation remains: they can be up to 8 inside and 15 if the reception is held on the terrace.
Are the capacities reduced?
No, the capacity remains intact. In other words, the same number of people can participate in a Christmas dinner, but the tables, instead of being ten indoors and 20 on the terrace, will be a maximum of 8 and 15 people.
And the hours?
Either. The schedules remain as before.
Are there changes in nightlife?
Only as far as table occupancy is concerned: 8 indoors and 15 on the terrace. The presentation of the covid passport will continue to be mandatory.
Do I have to present the covid certificate?
The TSXG has not yet ruled on the measure agreed between the hospitality sector and the Xunta. If endorsed by the court, the entry into force will mean the obligation to present the immunity certificate (complete vaccination schedule, negative test in the last 72 hours or having overcome covid-19 in the last six months) in restaurants throughout the entire season. day and in bars and cafes from 9:00 p.m.
The Xunta trusts in vaccinating children from 5 to 11 years old in the Christmas holidays "there are doses"

If there are Pfizer vaccines for children, Galicia is considering taking advantage of the Christmas school break for their immunization. It is the initial approach of Sergas, provided that the recommendations of the medicine agency are confirmed and ratified in the interterritorial health council. "Or the only thing we need are vaccines, and let's get started, let's do it quickly," said the president of the Xunta, who left open the possibility that this first dose for minors has to be started with classes underway.
The regional vaccination plan for December is to close the year with all those over 60 years of age with their booster dose, as well as for health professionals and nursing home workers. The second dose will also be completed for those initially vaccinated with Janssen, such as the 13,000 Galician sailors.
